Our people
Even more than music, our Orchestra revolves around people.
At the heart of the Orchestra are the young musicians who dedicate much of their lives to master their instruments, and then go the extra distance to lean the discipline of working as a team member in the Orchestra.
Our Artistic Director, Stewart Grant, and the Junior Orchestra Conductor, Jean-Ai Patrascu lead these young musicians, and challenge them to achieve ever higher levels of musical excellence.
The Board of Directors is a group of dedicated parents and other community members who direct the affairs of the Orchestra and, together with other parent volunteers, take care of all the minutiae of running an orchestra.
And finally the Orchestra is supported by the West Island community as a whole, including through grants from municipalities and government agencies, partnerships with local businesses and public participation in our fundraising activities and attendance at our concerts.
