April 16, 2018 – The West Island Youth Symphony Orchestra was one of eight participating orchestras from all corners of Québec who participated in the 20th AOJQ Festival, organised by the Association des orchestres des jeunes de Québec. This intensive long weekend sees the orchestras paired under the direction of internationally renown conductors. The festival closes with a gala concert at the Maison symphonique.
The WISYO had the great pleasure of being paired with the Orchestre des jeunes de Joliette under the direction of Alain Trudel. The ensemble of 83 musicians prepared the Grand Russian Easter by Nikolaï Rimsky-Korsakov and Danzon No.2 composed by Arturo Marquez.
Here are a few snapshots of this unforgettable experience! Thank you to the musicians and chaperones who shared photos and videos of the weekend.
Congratulations to all the musicians for a spectacular concert at the Maison symphonique!
